As a result of Cassie Plummer’s (Claire Sweeney) continued hospitalisations, which caused an old character to make a comeback, her arrival on Coronation Street continues to cause issues.
The biological mother of Tyrone (Alan Halsall), Cassie is back this week following a stint in recovery.
Evelyn (Maureen Lipman), who is desperate to keep her daughter away from Tyrone, and Cassie both decide to move into a flat in the precinct.
After some cunning work from Cassie, who finds her way to the Bistro and ultimately tells Tyrone the truth, that fails miserably.
As he listens to Cassie talk about heading to the Citizens Advice Bureau to begin looking for housing in a new week, Tyrone seems ready to give her a chance.

When Cassie meets up with her drug dealer Dean, who we first met a few years ago when Abi (Sally Carman) was struggling after Imran’s (Charlie de Melo) affair was made public, Cassie dashes her aspirations of ever leading a life free from narcotics.
When Cassie is reminded that she owes Dean money, Dean rapidly becomes hostile, causing her to collapse to the ground in agony.
Michael (Ryan Russell) spots Cassie and insists on transporting her to the hospital.
Dean shows up at A&E and ends up arguing with Michael.
Michael receives a hit to the face from Dean as Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) approaches.
Cassie requests that they not call the police, despite Ronnie’s assertion that they should.
But will they take her advice?
Will Tyrone learn what happened, and if so, when?
