The most well-known role Jamie Borthwick has had on Strictly Come Dancing is that of Jay Brown on BBC EastEnders since 2006.
Although Jamie Borthwick has been a fixture on television since 2006, his career started earlier. When the Strictly Come Dancing star debuted on the BBC serial opera as Jay Brown, he was barely twelve years old.
Many fans won’t be aware, though, that before to landing a position in Albert Square, he held a variety of occupations. In fact, during his early career, he even collaborated with an EastEnder.
In 2005, Jamie made his major TV debut in the film Celebrate Oliver. BBC One honored Lionel Bart’s timeless musical with a TV movie presented by Shane Richie, a legendary character from EastEnders.

The soap opera actress made an appearance with Oliver as one of the orphan lads living in the workhouse. After making his screen debut three years earlier, Shane said goodbye to the character of Alfie Moon in the same year.
He was reunited with Jamie upon his comeback to the serial opera in 2010, and the two have been collaborators ever since. Among Jamie’s other acting credits are two small parts in the well-liked comedy series Not Going Out, which stars Hugh Dennis, Lee Mack, Sally Bretton, and Katie Wix.
On Strictly Come Dancing, Jamie and his partner Michelle Tsiakkas have been captivating the judges and audience with their performances. Jamie is Michelle’s first celebrity partner, even though the 29-year-old has been on the BBC show since 2022.

Michelle gushed when asked about being a key component of the 20th anniversary series: “It feels amazing.” To be honest, being here is a godsend. I’ve been in this place in a dream since I was six years old, and it continues to seem extremely strange, but I’m really thankful to be here every year. It seems incredibly thrilling to me.
“The fact that this program has been running for 20 years just serves to highlight how fantastic it is.It’s the country’s favorite program, after all, and it’s been popular for so long.”
After executing the Viennese Waltz, Rumba, and Quickstep, Jamie and Michelle danced the Salsa to “Danza Kuduro” by Don Omar and Lucenzo on Saturday night, October 12.

In tonight’s tough results show, one more star will go. It was Toyah Willcox who bid the ballroom farewell last week. The vocalist from the 1980s was pitted against Paul Merson in the bottom two for the second time.
The 66-year-old Toyah sent an emotional message addressing her departure, saying, “Thanks for all your support, it’s been a beautiful trip. Neil, you are my hero xxx, and I want to thank the entire Strictly team for one of the most thrilling experiences of my life.”
